Print Art Review of 2013 – The Best Print Images of the Year!

We’re celebrating the brilliant and varied world of print with a special roundup of the best print pieces from around the Internet in 2013. These incredible print examples made us laugh, gasp, and delight at the craft of design and print.

The following print images and products represent our personal list of favorite designs that we discovered on our web travels in 2013. They also display much of the “flat-colored” and “open-spaced” design approach that we think will be a big trend in 2014.

For their wonderful humor, illustration brilliance, and high-impact graphic concept, we loved these headphone poster ads by McCann, Mumbai.

Australian design agency Designworks created this stunning print campaign that is so fun, colorful, and intricately planned. From the letterhead to the jelly beans, this design represents a real exploration of color, print, and product.

Designers Felix Ng and Chloe Seet designed these sublime festival tickets. The use of letterpress and other print techniques creates an extravagant and luscious design that feels desirable and important. We love the idea of a “golden ticket.” Beautiful typography and inspired design.

Barcelona studio Forma & Co. have created a complete brand for this cafe. The quality of branding design is some of the best we saw in 2013, and the product choices to represent the brand are so elegantly considered.

Pastilla Digital is a cutting edge design team that produced and printed these radical, geometric designs. I suspect that in 2014, we’ll see more of this style of color brilliance, crazy geometry, and metallic print effects.

UK designer Martin Davis created one of the most exquisite brochure designs we’ve ever seen in 2013. Using die-cut methods and special binding effects, these mini-booklets are a design lesson to us all in typography and composition.

This calendar print design by Kerry Callen is a masterpiece of typography. Using her own font design, she created a super stylish calendar that depicts each month in perfectly matched colors and aesthetic.
